Located right next to the popular “North Loop” (otherwise known as the warehouse district), Pryes is one of the largest of the Minneapolis breweries. It’s riverfront location makes it a perfect spot to hang-out, while still being close to the hustle of the downtown area. Be sure to check out their “Miraculum” brew which is a midwestern take on an IPA. We need this in a world that’s so focused on the IPA’s inspired by the east/west coasts!

Nestled in a residential neighborhood in South Minneapolis, Wild Mind Ales doubles as a coffee shop (Wild Grind Coffee) and brewery. Modist is a favorite Minneapolis brewery with an artsy feel. The taproom and patio are covered with graffiti-like artwork that resembles the creative labels on their cans. Now that it’s legal in Minnesota, Modist even has a line of brews that incorporate THC. With regular events and DJ’s pumping music throughout the taproom on select nights, this is a great spot to experience for yourself.

Surly is probably the most well-known and mainstream of the local craft breweries in the Twin Cities. Across town, you can find their famous “Furious” beer on tap as the craft IPA of choice at local restaurants. At the taproom, you will find one of the largest breweries in the Twin Cities. The beer garden alone is massive and hosts an annual outdoor music festival through the local First Avenue. Be sure to check out the gift shop on your way out the door.

If you’re not careful, you might miss Utepils, but you don’t want to! Walking into the taproom and attending their events allows you to feel like you’ve left Minneapolis and have entered a traditional European drinking establishment. Being community oriented, Utepils also has formed a group of customers and fans that volunteer for various projects around town. Located just west of downtown, you will find Utepils right next to Bassett Creek Park.

Our favorite beer from Fulton is the Lonely Blonde, but you can’t go wrong in choosing something else.

Located in the historic entertainment district of “Uptown,” LynLake is a fun spot with a cool rooftop patio. When you drive up, LynLake looks like an old theatre building with a large marquee spelling out the brewery name.
